the workshop
Built by hand. One at a time.
Every George Vanadium speaker is built by hand in our workshop in The Netherlands. No factory line. No outsourcing. Two years of work, twelve prototypes, three full redesigns — to make something that earns its place in a living room.
Tuned for voice and acoustic instrument — folk, singer-songwriter, jazz, world music. Not for club volume. For Sunday mornings and long evenings.
seriously about sound, not about ourselves
What we stand for
Craftsmanship
Built one at a time. Twelve prototypes, three full redesigns, hundreds of hours tuning. The kind of work that doesn't scale — and shouldn't.
Voice-forward sound
Tuned for the breath between notes. Two full-range drivers, one subwoofer, hand-calibrated over months. Stems and acoustic instruments stand in the room — not behind a curtain.
Made for the living room
Six colours, chosen to belong next to your books and plants. No black box. No flashing lights. A cylinder that behaves like furniture.
Real life
Made for the way you actually live. Slow mornings, long dinners, friends who stay too late. 360° sound — no sweet spot, no asking guests to sit still.

the point of all this
The reason for all of this.
The cylinder, the wood, the six colours — that's half the story.
The other half is what happens when you turn it on.
The Halo is tuned for the music we listen to ourselves. Ben Howard, Nils Frahm, Norah Jones, Buena Vista. Pianos that creak, voices that breathe, guitars you can hear being played.
Not for garden parties. Not for EDM. Not for showroom first impressions.
For the moment you hear an old song again and think: I've never actually heard this before.
our manifesto
We founded George Vanadium because we love beautiful things and quality music.
We're here for the design lovers, the rule breakers, and anyone who's ever said "Does it come in another color?" We take sound and design seriously. Ourselves, not so much.
our story
His & hers
his side
"I just wanted a proper stereo in the living room."
I have a deep passion for technology and music. I wanted a beautiful stereo for our living room — but my wife said the ones I liked were ugly and not allowed anywhere near it. The speakers she would accept were either absurdly expensive (hello, B&O Beosound Balance) or just didn't sound good (Sonos, Marshall — sorry).
So I decided to build it myself. I'm a guitar nerd — John Mayer, Eric Clapton — and I wanted to actually hear the strings. That's why I chose high-quality drivers with no crossover at the crucial mid frequencies. Then I added a proper subwoofer so Kings of Leon and Imagine Dragons hit the way they should — drums and bass, tight and real.
her side
"A sculpture, not a masculine speaker."
I put a lot of effort into making a home — an interior I actually want to be in. Then my husband kept talking about a music system, and I really didn't want some ugly black box ruining the room. So I agreed: he could build it himself.
The first design looked like a blender. But after a few iterations, it started looking really good. I picked 7 color combinations that fit beautifully in real interiors, and pushed for a flawless, high-quality finish — so the speaker becomes an addition to the room. A sculpture, not a masculine speaker.
designed to disappear
Music, not menus.
The app is there when you need it. Out of the way when you don't.
Most connected speakers ask you to open an app just to change the volume. Unlock your phone. Find the app. Wait for it to load. Select the right room. Adjust. Apply.
The Halo doesn't work like that. Change the volume from your lock screen. From the widget on your home screen. From Control Center. From Spotify, Tidal, or TuneIn directly. From wherever you already are.
We built the app for what apps should do — setting up the speaker, choosing your input, connecting to Wi-Fi, adding a second speaker to another room. The music itself belongs in the music apps you already use.
Volume, anywhere
Change volume from your lock screen. From Control Center. From the widget. Never open the app just to turn the music down.
Your streaming service, your choice
Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, Tidal, TuneIn, Deezer, DLNA. Use what you already use. Nothing new to learn.
One speaker, or many
Add a Halo to the kitchen, another to the study. Play the same music through both, or something different in each. Multi-room without complexity.
The best speaker apps are the ones you rarely open. Ours is designed to disappear into how you already listen to music.
still not sure?
